¿Qué función cumple los antigenos en la sangre?
Los antígenos se caracterizan porque estimulan la formación de anticuerpos cuando detectan que la sangre que se ha transfós, no tiene el mismo antígeno que la del propio cuerpo, de forma que este es el factor que determina quién puede dar a quién.
¿Qué es un antígeno propio?
Es cualquier sustancia que provoca que el sistema inmunitario produzca anticuerpos contra sí mismo. Esto significa que su sistema inmunitario no reconoce la sustancia, y está tratando de combatirla. Un antígeno puede ser una sustancia extraña proveniente del ambiente, como químicos, bacterias, virus o polen.
¿Qué es el IgE?
La prueba de la inmunoglobulina E (IgE) mide la concentración de IgE (un tipo de anticuerpo) en sangre. Los anticuerpos están fabricados por el sistema inmunitario para proteger al cuerpo de bacterias, virus y alérgenos.

¿Cómo se produce la IgE?
Los linfocitos B producen la IgE y los linfocitos T, dependiendo del subgrupo implicado, participan en enfermedades como el eccema alérgico al níquel (linfocitos Th1) o colaboran con los linfocitos B para generar elevadas cantidades de IgE (linfocitos Th2).
